With fierce competition for roles in the sector, preparing for our media forum and networking event is key. Research and knowing the field is incredibly important but in addition, learn top tips on how to network and make the most of the forum so it can work for you

Are you wondering what your media career options might be, or do you have an idea of what you want to do but are not sure how to get there? Maybe you know how to get there but would like some inside information to boost your application? Then come along to the Careers in Media Forum and Networking Event.
The event starts with an hour long panel discussion with representatives from selected occupations telling you about their line of work and answering your questions.

1-2pm Routes into Publishing / How has the industry changed

Inspired Selection will be giving an overview of the publishing sector, roles available and how the industry has changed more recently due to more publishers going digital. Inspired Selection will cover what types of vacancies in publishing come up, how graduates can find the vacancies, what requirements there are for various roles, how they can prepare. A must for anyone who wants to pursue a career within publishing.
Wednesday 13th March
2-4pm Journalism Workshop
Delivered by: News Associates
Students interested in pursuing a career in newspapers, magazines, online or broadcast can enrol on this two-hour journalism workshop run by the press agency News Associates. They will get you writing an article in a mock, ‘real-life’ breaking news exercise. Feedback will be given on your work and time is set aside for careers advice. News Associates are also the largest training provider of the NCTJ (National Council for the Training of Journalists) Multimedia Diploma.
Thursday 14th March
1-2pm Panel discussion: Communication Careers in Different Sectors
Communications happen within every industry outside of the typical broadcasters. This panel discussion will allow you to get an insight into different communication careers in other sectors.
